8 Reasons Why You Must Make A Choice How To Live NOW!
The problems only get worse if you wait
Last year I went to the dentist for a routine cleaning.
Turned out I had some cavities.
I found out it was going to cost over $200 PER CAVITY since I didn’t have insurance.
So I put off getting the work done, thinking that I’d eventually save up enough to go back (really I was just ignoring it).
Finally one of my teeth basically started giving me the middle finger and I had to go back to the dentist right away.
Because I had ignored my cavities, I now had a $2,000 root canal on my hands!
And that was just for 1 tooth.
The sad reality is that the longer you wait to make a positive change in your life, the worse it gets.
Life doesn’t stand still. You’re either going forward or going backwards.
You don’t want to regret not changing earlier
From our day to day perspective it feels like life offers a fresh new start each morning.
So who cares if you don’t change today.
There’s always tomorrow, right?
On one hand, seeing each new day as a fresh start can offer hope and motivation.
But the reality is that you are always changing.
The experiences that are common in your 20’s will be different than those in your 30’s or 40’s.
We all go through different stages of life.
Now think back to the last stage of your life.
Was it college?
If you could go back, what changes would you make?
The reality is (and I’m sorry to be so blunt) you will never have a second chance at that stage of your life.
If you missed out on making the most of it, you can’t go back and change it.
If you missed out on playing with your kids while they were young because you weren’t in shape, unfortunately that time is over.
See where I’m getting at?
It’s a hard truth to face, but there IS a bright side.
It’s easier to change than you think
If what I just said felt very “Doom and Gloom”, let me remind you that YOU HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE.
You are in a completely new stage of life RIGHT NOW.
And you will be in another one later on down the road.
And you have the power to decide what that will look like.
And it’s easier than you think.
It may not happen immediately, but it WILL happen FAST.
For instance, our gym runs a program called the 6 Week Body Transformation.
I’ve seen amazing results from people who dedicated themselves to making lifetime changes in those 6 weeks.
Think back to where you were 6 weeks ago. Actually look on the calendar to the exact date.
What were you doing around that day?
The time went by pretty fast, didn’t it?
Imagine how you’d feel right now if on that day you had decided to make 1 important change to your life.
You’re an influence to others
The most common predictor of your success and health in life isn’t how smart you are.
It isn’t how lucky you are.
It isn’t the opportunities that come your way.
It’s who you spend the most amount of your time with.
We are social creatures, and without even thinking about it we tend to adopt the habits and perspectives of those around us.
If you are a mother or father, your children will learn how to make their choices based on how you make yours.
If you eat junk food and neglect your health, your children will most likely model you.
If, on the other hand, you show that you value your body by eating healthy and making exercise a priority, your children will also learn to value their health as well.
And even if you’re not a mother or father, you have a huge impact on your friends as well.
The sooner you decide how to live, the better you can make your life (compound interest)
The easiest way to understand how much impact changing your life NOW can have on your future, it’s easiest to look at it like an investor would.
After all, that’s really what you’re doing by changing, isn’t it? You’re investing in yourself.
When an investor puts money into a stock, what he’s looking for is Compound Interest.
Basically, if a stock doubles in value every year (which would be amazing), it is compounding on itself.
So, for instance, if I invest $1 into the stock market, next year I’ll have $2.
The next year I’ll have $4–my $2 doubled itself.
The next year I’ll be up to $8.
If I left that $1 in for 10 years I’d have $1,024.
Pretty impressive, huh?
I know I’D be happy with that sort of return off of just a buck.
But here’s the beauty (and urgency) of compound interest.
What if a friend of mine had invested a $1 just one year earlier than I had?
How much would he have on the same day that I made over $1,000?
Well, he’d have exactly DOUBLE what I have–$2,048!
THAT is the power of compounding interest.
Now apply that to your life.
The longer you wait to change your life, the less chance you’ll ever have to live it to it’s fullest.
And the sooner you act, the more fullness and richness you’ll be able to enjoy.
Until you decide, others will choose for you
There are plenty of people in the world who understand the value of our time here on earth.
And they’re more than happy to steal as much of yours as possible.
And unless you have a clear direction of where you’re taking your life, it’ll be hard to keep from getting added to other people’s agendas.
As far as we know, we have just one shot at this experience we call “life”.
So don’t become someone else’ ticket to a great life at the expense of your own.
You deserve to live a kick-ass life
Ultimately, this is what it’s all about.
Just by virtue of your existence, you have as much worth as anybody else.
You deserve all of the happiness that can possibly be yours.
You deserve to wake up each morning excited for the new day.
You deserve to live the kind of life that you will look back on and feel fulfilled by.
Do you agree, at the bottom of your heart?
If so, then it’s time to cut the cords of those things that drain you of your precious time here.
It’s time to take the hardest step to making your life Kick-Ass–the FIRST step.
Success is found through trial and error. Until you try, you won’t have any errors to learn from
Don’t worry about being perfect.
Don’t waste too much time planning out how to change, or making sure you’re making all of the correct choices.
Just make the OBVIOUS choices right now.
Then stay open to learning how to make even better choices as you go.
Experience will be your best teacher.
