Joseph Rocket
Kickboxing Instructor
Joseph first started boxing as a kid, but it wasn’t until years later that he rediscovered martial arts and found his true passion for training. What began as a simple return to the gym quickly became a way of life — teaching him focus, confidence, and resilience through the discipline of combat sports.
Drawing inspiration from Bruce Lee and other self-made martial artists, Joseph is a firm believer that there’s always something new to learn, no matter your level. And he brings that same mindset into every class he teaches.
As a coach, Joseph is known for his laid-back energy and genuine enthusiasm for helping others improve. He remembers how intimidating training and sparring used to feel, so he creates a supportive environment where beginners can learn at their own pace while still being challenged to grow. His goal is to make every student feel confident, capable, and part of the team.
Outside the gym, Joseph works as an editor for two Austin-based magazines covering music and culture, a creative outlet that balances his fighter’s edge with his sharp wit.
