10 Ways To Lose Weight While Saving Money

10 Ways To Lose Weight While Saving Money

The first time you decide to change up your lifestyle and start working out and eating healthy it can be a little daunting to see how much money you’re spending.

Is it because living healthy is expensive?

Not exactly.

Once you’ve had a little more experience with your new lifestyle, you’ll find ways to lower those costs way down.

Here are some suggestions to get you started saving money.

If you’re a member of a gym, see if they have discounts for longer memberships.

If you’ve been working out at a gym and you plan on staying for a while, see if they have cheaper options for signing up for a longer term.

Of course, there is some risk here.

If you agree to sign up for longer in exchange for a discount, you should honor your word.

So weigh this option in light of things like your commitment level, any vacations you might take, and whether or not your work schedule might change.

Find out what their policy is if you get injured or go on a long vacation.

Ride a bicycle instead of driving

If you’re just going a couple of miles for something, consider saving some gas money and getting some fresh air and exercise to boot.

Eat at home

Eating out costs more, whether you’re eating healthy or not.

Although, often the healthy option is more expensive.

So eat at home more.

Even if you started making your own lunches instead of grabbing a bite somewhere nearby work, you could be saving a ton of money in the long run.

Find a balance between cheap & high quality

Be careful about getting into the mentality of ONLY shopping for the cheapest foods.

I like to strike a balance.

I buy a lot of cheaper foods that are healthy, and then use the money I save (and the money I save by not eating out) to buy a few high quality foods that I love, like a really nice cut of meat or an infused vinaigrette for my salads.

Here’s a short list of some cheaper health foods you can buy to off-set the costly ones:

1. Eggs

2. Oatmeal

3. Brown Rice

4. Frozen veggies

Use spices

Chicken is cheap, but bland.

Throw some spices on it, and you’ve got dozens of different chicken meals that all taste great.

There are lots of cheap foods that are turned into something ahttps://www.austinkickboxingandjiujitsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/placeholder-vertical-1.jpgome with a couple of your favorite spices.

And spices are cheap, compared to how long they’ll last you.

Use veggies as fillers

You can add veggies to a lot of meals to fill them out and make them last longer.

Some veggies have very little flavor, so they won’t ruin the taste of your dish.

They can also add some texture to your meal.

I like to add sauteed onions to things, for example, because I like how they taste and I like the texture that they add.

Online recipe site that tells prices

I know of at least one recipe site that will actually give you the best places to shop on prices for a lot of the ingredients.

Keep breakfast simple

Breakfast seems like the easiest meal for me to save money.

I usually have either egg tacos with a little cheese and jalapenos, or a bowl of oatmeal and granola.

Buy in bulk

Buying in bulk is a great way to save money, but if you’re just starting out be careful.

Stick with things you can freeze or store for a while.

I’ve seen too many people go all out on fresh vegetables, only to watch as the veggies rot before they get to them.

Use an ingredient search engine

I love ingredient search engines.

You just plug in all of the ingredients you have in your kitchen, and they tell you everything you can make with them.

That way you don’t have to buy 100 different ingredients at once, or let things go bad because you haven’t used it all.
